From where comes the misery…

If peace comes from seeing the whole, then misery stems from a loss of perspective. We begin so aware and grateful. The sun somehow hangs there in the sky. The little bird sings. The miracle of life just happens.

Then we stub our toe, and in that moment of pain, the whole world is reduced to our poor little toe.      – Mark Nepo

When my son doesn’t call me or Otis, my dog, has pulled up the freshly planted bulbs I carefully laid under the soil…I have forgotten the pleasure and excitement I have felt just being in their presence. Misery is only a moment of suffering that I have allowed to become my everything…and it is then I must remember to look up.

      1. I’m sorry yes, your theme it’s wonderful. It was after my comment that I noticed the whole theme changed! I love that one. I tried to use it but it would not “play nice” with my Windows Live Writer program I use to do up posts…darn it! 🙂

  1. I really like this thought. I know at times I forget to look at the big picture and I focus on the one thing that is bugging me. But I have been able to step back take a breathe and look up… Thanks for a great post!
