When I Ride…

Chilly riding weather…

Looking across the horse pens

“You can get in a car and see what man has made but you have to get on a horse and ride to see what God made.”

That is a quote that has an unknown author but I get it. The experience I prefer is one horseback. Nature restores us and these views today did not dissappoint.

Riding West through sagebrush

Robbie Nelson, my teacher here at Buffalo Woman Ranch and I went for a brisk ride this morning. It was 28F when I rolled out of my sleeping bag.

Have a great week everyone. Don’t forget to stop and just look up.

  1. I totally agree…..horses are good to our soul…they take us places and give us views that no other vehicle can…and the best part is that the horse too has a heart:)

  2. Amen, Horse Sister! Good point!

  3. I went for a three hour ride yesterday morning with a friend through the fall foliage here…we got gently hailed on – not a big deal. It was crisp, 48* and mostly sunny…Simply gorgeous. Her and I have always said, “A bad day riding is better than not riding at all”. Your *most agreeable post* also brought to mind that great quote by Churchill…“There is something about the outside of a horse that is good for the inside of a man.” ~Winston Churchill. Truer words were never spoken.
    Happy Monday!

  4. You are so right, D. Have a wonderful week. Sleet/Hail…brrrrrr.
