I can understand why so many southwestern artists live in this land of red rocks and yellow soil. It is the inspiration for the late Georgia O’Keefe, an artist I have been fascinated with since I was a little girl.
I had a gorgeous trip from Ojo Caliente through this awesome country…
was washed clean by a thunderstorm that barreled its way up the valley to Abiquiu and rolled over Chama…
Finally entering the San Juan National Forest, Durango and La Plata…
and rolled to a rest in the farming community of Dove Creek, Colorado. Wheat, pinto beans, sunflowers…
The dogs barked at me when I got out of the car. The dogs I spent a month with, last year…those big sillies. But it wasn’t long and I was throwing the ball and all was well. Robbie was just finishing feeding and we hugged like sisters. She and Codi and I sat down to a light meal and discussed the client’s session that will be happening tomorrow. No time to waste!
I’m super excited and ready to get down to business. Ready to quit driving for a while and work with a new weanling, Maverick, and the rest of the herd. This is the introduction to my month here at Buffalo Woman Ranch. A place where horses co-facilitate the emotional healing clients come here to experience. The Epona Method…
I will follow your posts with interest. I met Linda Kohanov a few years ago when she came to the Toronto area for a weekend symposium I helped to organize. She and Chris Irwin in the same arena sharing their incredible knowledge. My life changed that year. Amazing stuff. … I would love to do what you are doing. Have a wonderful experience.
Thank you, Dorothy. This is big stuff and I love and feel honored to be a part of it.
I love the pictures! Makes me feel like I am on the road with you. Wish I was.
I know you will have a great time on learning. The women who own the ranch and the guests are blessed to have you.
Missing you
Thank you, Mary. I look forward to sharing what I’ve learned with you when You come back to Texas. Hurry Girl!
This is wonderful Lissa – thank you for sharing your drive across New Mexico!
I love you
Thank you. It was a great drive and I love this sacred and spiritual place. I’ve asked God to use me in my daily prayer. I know He does

A back roads drive, very nice. It’s so much better than the interstate.
